What an impressive start to the season! The Meade Mustangs Varsity Basketball team starts off the 2022-23 season with back to back wins over Anne Arundel County opponents defeating the North County Knights at home 88-43 before beating the Falcons in Severna Park last night 65-49. By the way they’re playing right now shows how competitive and focused they are in winning a State Championship. Last night, the Mustangs were strong and vigilant against a Severna Park team that really didn’t give them a lot of chances. But their starting lineup showed up to play and they got the job done to go 2-0 on the season.
However, they have a tough game coming up on Friday night. They have to go on the road against a tough Wildcats team and get a road win once again at Arundel High School. This is the team last year that the Mustangs outlasted in the greatest playoff game that I’ve ever seen at Meade High School. Even though Arundel is 1-2 on the season according to the standings, they are still a dangerous team to play in the county. So the Wildcats will be focused and zoned in winning that game on their home court on Friday night against Meade. In order for the Mustangs to continue their current winning streak, they need to continue playing at the level of confidence that they have right now and most importantly keep showing that fighting spirit.
This team has to stay focused on bringing in the right mindset with them if they’re gonna be able to pull off a road win against the Wildcats. It’s gonna take a lot for them to pull off a road victory but Mustang Nation believes that they can take advantage of that opportunity on Friday night and win! So let’s keep showing that spirit and carry this red hot winning streak to 3 straight games. Let’s go Mustangs!
