This season has to be one of the most impressive seasons I’ve seen from the Meade Boys Varsity Basketball team! I was at the Friday night game against Crofton High School with my ¨Pep Band friends¨ and they played their hearts out even when things are not going their way. Despite a low scoring game being displayed by the team, they found a way to overcome their mistakes and get the job done by defeating the Crofton Cardinals 58-31. It was a very good experience being there at the gymnasium in person watching them playing with the pride and talent in them and rallying around each other.

After they took care of business at home against Crofton, they went on the road to Hanover MD to take on CSP (Chesapeake Science Point) and they look sharp and confident! they kept their poise and stayed focused in outscoring CSP for most of the game. In the end, they handle the CSP Tigers without a problem at all 79-60. They improve to 9-1 overall on the season and remain undefeated in the county (7-0)! The Mustangs are currently on another hot winning streak! They won 4 straight games and they look forward to continue that winning streak when they take on a Northeast team that is tied with Meade right now for the best record in the county according to the standings. It may be an interesting match up coming up on Friday night on our home court. (aka:The Stable)

But in order for the Boys Varsity Basketball team to continue their success, they just gotta keep trusting each other to play great and live up to the expectations of sticking with the momentum they have right now. Also, if they continue playing and executing their style of basketball, I believe they can get it done against a Northeast team that they cannot sleep on because they may be competitive on our home court. Let ´ s hope that they can continue overcoming adversity and play with Mustang pride! Let´s go Mustangs!
