Hogwarts Legacy is the latest installment of Harry Potter media to be unanimously hated on Twitter. Not to outdo me and go on rambles but this review will focus entirely on the game itself and no outside factors.
During my 2-3 hour-long playthrough I was able to get a surface-level feel for most of what the game had to offer. Without a doubt, the game itself was tailor-made for degenerate potter-heads such as me. The concept of making your own Hogwarts student and living out your wildest fantasies in the classes you partake in is legitimately in itself a jaw-dropping system helped out by the game well made complex customization system. While not incredibly perfect it’s super cute to know that it gets the job done and I can be Draketh Diaz of Hufflepuff. Sadly, no matter what gender, race, or color, you will always wind up being a child with a British accent.
The characters you forge your connections and relationships with are somewhat surface level but I would be lying if this game didn’t have some of the best voice acting I have heard in a while. Specifically Prof. Fig, Nigel, and Ragnor. The combat system has that of a baby’s first demon souls game, slightly complex but nothing to write home about. The story itself is also nothing to write home about as well but what makes the game special are its beautiful environments and attention to detail in an effort to create the perfect Hogwarts experience. The halls of Hogwarts and the people of Hogsmeade are so beautiful and layered that you never want to use the fast travel system and simply want to breathe in the lovely scale of it all.
Overall, I rule Hogwarts Legacy a 7/10
