From Heartbreak to Redemption!

What an amazing game that was in Montgomery Blair High School! The Meade Mustangs Boys Varsity Basketball Team survived an epic 4th quarter comeback against Sherwood High School and won 58-51 in the State Final Four and advanced to the State Championship! This game was crazy through all 4 quarters. In the first half, it was completely dominated by Meade in terms of scoring and executing their style of play. However in the second half, Sherwood refused to go away. Even though the 3rd quarter was controlled by the Mustangs, Sherwood redeemed themselves in the 4th quarter.

That left Mustang Nation scared that we saw 20 point lead which was the largest lead that Meade had the entire game go down to a 4 point game with 1 minute left in the game with everything on the line. But when it mattered most, the boys were able to hold on to a narrow lead and advance to the State Championship. As a result, the team as a whole are having such a great season, improved from last year’s heartbreaking loss in the State Semi Finals and got better as the season went on. Now, their final opponent standing in their way between their ultimate goal and themselves is #1 seeded Parkville. This is gonna be the toughest game all season that the Mustangs are going to deal with.

But no matter what happens, the team has to give everything they got if they’re gonna somehow pull off the upset tomorrow at the Xfinity Center in University of Maryland College Park! Best of luck to the boys tomorrow and let’s go Mustangs!
