The 4th week of April may have to be the craziest weeks of sports that I’ve ever seen! Starting with the 2023 NBA Playoffs. I saw the crazy debacle happen in game 4 between the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings on Sunday afternoon. Following that amazing game would have to be the epic comeback win by Jimmy Butler the Miami Heat defeating the #1 seeded Milwaukee Bucks in game 4 of their 7 game series on Monday night. And then I saw the Atlanta Hawks pulled off a dramatic victory over the Boston Celtics in game 5 of their 7 game series on Tuesday night. I was losing my mind when I saw all of those amazing playoff games come down to the wire! But let’s break those games down.
Kings vs Warriors: In the first half, it was working in Sacramento’s favor heading when they had a 69-65 lead heading into halftime. The game could’ve gone anywhere and I knew it was gonna be a high scoring game. Once the third quarter started, Stephen Curry put on a show by doing what he does best by dropping 32 points to cancel out De’Aaron Fox’s 38 points he had in that game. When the 4th quarter started, it was a back and forth affair between these two teams until the Kings tried to put up a last minute rally by outscoring the Warriors 33-24 in the fourth quarter. However it wasn’t enough and as a result, the Golden State Warriors survive and win game 4 126-125. The Kings won games 1 and 2 of the series. But the Warriors took games 3 and 4 to tie the series at 2 games a piece. Game 5 will be at 10 pm tonight at Sacramento.
Bucks vs Heat: This game rested on the shoulders of Jimmy Butler. He put up his greatest performance of the postseason by dropping 56 points which is the most points scored from a Miami Heat player in a playoff game in franchise history! In my opinion, that was the greatest performance I’ve seen out of Jimmy Butler. Milwaukee was in control for most of this game. But they did not have an answer for Jimmy Butler and the Heat in the fourth quarter. And Miami goes on to pull off an amazing comeback 119-114 over the #1 seeded Milwaukee Bucks who are now down 3 games to 1 in their 7 game series and are now on the verge of elimination. Game 5 will be at 9:30 pm tonight at Milwaukee.
Hawks vs Celtics: The Atlanta Hawks refused to see their season come to an end. They played with all the energy they had left in the tank and it paid off against this strong Boston Celtics team. With under 20 seconds left to go in the game and the Celtics having a 117-116 lead, Trae Young sinks the game winning three pointer to seal a prideful victory for his team and forced a game 6 back to Atlanta! The Boston Celtics still lead the series 3 games to 2. Game 6 will be on Thursday night at 8:30 pm in Atlanta.
Those are all the crazy games I saw this week. And to finish it all off with some additional news, Aaron Rodgers the long time Green Bay Packers quarterback has been traded to the New York Jets Monday afternoon!
