Playing sports helps you learn how to overcome adversity, make changes to make yourself better whatever your weaknesses are and work on improving yourself to be a better human being. That’s what the Meade Varsity Boys Soccer team had to endure last night at “The Stable” at Meade High School. The boys lost to Severna Park 2-1 in overtime and this loss definitely hurts especially when they played hard and did whatever they can to sustain their momentum heading towards the end of the season. There were a couple of things that stood out during last night’s game.
The Mustangs jumped on top early on in the first half of the game, gaining an advantage with under 30 minutes left. However, Severna Park tied the game heading towards halftime. Then in the second half, the Mustangs struggled to score the ball which sent the game to overtime squared up at 1 apiece. Finally, Severna Park scored the game winning goal 3 minutes into overtime. Meade as of now drops to 6-3 on the season but still in the hunt for a playoff spot.
Despite the loss, the boys still have a chance to do even greater things this season. All they have to do is keep their heads up high and move on to the next game which is Thursday at 7 pm against Arundel at Meade High School
