Well, here we are! The Meade Mustangs Boys Varsity Basketball team is getting ready to prepare for tomorrow’s huge game against the Laurel Spartans at Dr. Henry Wise High School in Upper Marlboro @6pm. Tomorrow night is the Maryland 4A State Semifinals (aka: State Final Four). Everything is at stake for both teams as they both had phenomenal seasons and are now competing against each other to earn an opportunity to play in the State Championship at University of Maryland College Park. I recently interviewed the head coach of the Boys Varsity Basketball team, Coach Glick for his keys to beating a really good Laurel Basketball team. He said “We gotta rebound the basketball and not turn the ball over offensively.” It turns out according to the coach himself that Laurel has a huge advantage when it comes to size comparison. However, the Meade has been so resilient all season and they don’t quit nor back down till the end. In fact, the Meade Mustangs have not lost a game since late December and are on the verge of making it to their second State Championship in four seasons. With the way that Meade has been playing consistent basketball over the last 21 games they’ve won, they’re locked in and are ready to pull off something special for Meade HS and the Meade Community. Mustang Nation, we need everybody’s support! So go grab those tickets before they sell out and as always; let’s go Mustangs!
