Gut check time

After a rough game on Friday last week, the Meade Mustangs Varsity Football team drops to 1-2 on the season with a 49-21 defeat to Broadneck at Da Stable (Meade Football Stadium). To quickly recap the game, the first half totally got outta hand for the Mustangs giving up big plays defensively, and making too many mistakes offensively. As bad as the first half was for Meade, they did respond with 3 touchdowns of their own in the second half. One of the 3 touchdowns came from a fumble recovery by the defense in the 3rd quarter.

Overall, it was a rough game for the Mustangs, especially when it came down to time of possession. They didn’t move the ball downfield well, and the game just slipped out of their grasp right after they blinked in the 1st quarter. But hopefully these boys will come out with an even better effort for next time as they prepare for their next matchup this Friday at Crofton HS.

The positives that jumped out at that game were the halftime show performed by the Meade Marching Band and Color Guard. Shout out to everyone who showed up to the game last week as we await the Homecoming game against North County! Go Mustangs!
